The Lac du Der
Located 15 minutes from Hôtel Picardy in Saint-Dizier, the Lac du Der is one of the largest lakes in Europe with 4,800 hectares of water and 77 km of shoreline.
Infrastructures have been set up to welcome both swimmers and boaters:

3 ports, including the nautical station and its marina in Giffaumont;

6 beaches for swimming, supervised in July/August.
In the Pays du Der, the whole family can enjoy a multitude of activities, as well as discover the Charles de Gaulle Memorial, with its historical interpretation centre inaugurated on 11 October 2008 by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Verdun
Located in Lorraine, in the heart of the Meuse department, Verdun is a major centre for history and remembrance tourism in France and Europe. Synonymous with the greatest battle of the 20th century, it is also the capital of the dragée, a speciality at Maison Braquier.
